Based on the Novels by Lewis Carroll. “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass”.

Impressive movie from one of the most quirky directors Hollywood has ever seen. Tim Burton’s (director) unique vision of Lewis Carroll’s classic novels sends Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland. There she is needed to help defeat the Red Queen (Carter) and she also has to destroy the Jabberwocky. She finds the Mad Hatter (Depp) and he remembers her but she is not the same Alice. As Alice moves around Wonderland she befriends new characters and transforms all of Wonderland. She wonders if this adventure is all just a dream. The movie is filled with beautiful colours and spectacular scenes that will make your television come to life.

The Mad Hatter asks Alice “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” There is no real answer given to this question in the movie or novels, just “I haven’t the slightest idea.” After some internet study I believe the writer intended that the riddle would have no answer. The answer I like best is “because you can’t ride either of them like a bicycle.” This is an illogical answer to an illogical riddle.
