Django (Foxx) is a slave that is purchased by a dentist named Dr. King Schultz (Waltz). It is easy to detect that this man Schultz is not much of a dentist. He needs Django to identify some people that he is after because Schultz knows them by name but not by face. The two form an unlikely partnership that has benefits for both sides. Django is trying to get his freedom and his wife back. The two need to go into the deep South to try and ascertain the owner of Django’s wife Broomhilda (Washington). Then they must try to buy her freedom from that owner. There is plenty of action in this movie and several extremely gory shootouts. So if you don’t like blood you might want to skip this movie. The dialogue given to Christoph Waltz helped earn him a second Academy Award for supporting actor while being directed by Quentin Tarantino (The other came from “Inglourious Basterds”).
