Well done movie which gives us an intimate look at the inner workings of what happens on the day of the NFL Entry Draft. Sonny Weaver Jr. (Costner) has just found out he is about to become a father, unfortunately the news comes to him the day of the NFL draft. His boss (Langella) has told him that if he doesn’t make a “Splash” in the NFL draft the owner will by firing Sonny.  What transpires is nothing short of miraculous for the Clevland Browns and their fans. Too bad, this is fiction. The number one overall consensus draft is quarterback Bo Callahan (Pence) but every great player has flaws and Sonny is trying to figure out if this young man has any. Should he trade up and get Callahan or stand at the seventh overall pick and take Mack (Boseman)? Ali his capologist and mother of his child to be tell Sonny that the choice is his alone. Ultimately, Sonny is on his own and will he ever get a chance to turn the tables on anyone else. This movie has strong performances from Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, and Tom Welling. Welling is surprisingly good at playing the pissed off quarter back who is struggling to maintain his cool as Sonny maneuvers the Clevland Browns toward the first overall pick and a new franchise quarterback.
