The Love Punch – You can’t pinch a diamond without stealing a few hearts.
Directed by Joel Hopkins.
Screenplay by Joel Hopkins.
The first thing you need to know is that I really wanted to like this movie, unfortunately it had a hard time getting started. Once the premise was established and our characters started taking action this movie showed some promise but never fully delivered.
Richard and Kate are divorced and are nearing retirement. The company where there pensions are being kept is taken over by an offshore company and all of their funds get stolen. Devastated the two hatch a plan to swipe an expensive diamond that the head of the offshore company purchased for his soon to be wife (Bourgoin).
Timothy Spall was definitely the best character to watch and he was unable to save this movie. Many of the early moments in this movie felt contrived and staged. These moments did not provide laughs merely yawns. I won’t say this was a bad movie because later on it was fun but I can’t say it is a good movie either.
