It has been 14 years since Jurassic Park 3 and the wait was certainly worth it. Our story begins at home with Gray (Simpkins) and Zach (Robinson) getting ready to leave for Jurassic World. The family is trying to be upbeat but there is something under the surface that just isn’t right. Zach is busy saying goodbye to his clingy girlfriend when his father says from the car “Come on, Zach it’s not like your going to war”. When they arrive at Jurassic World we get to enjoy all the awe and wonder as the two boys experience it. Their Aunt Claire (Howard) is not there to greet them but that does not slow them down.
The two boys get to the Feeding Show where a Mosasaurus jumps out of the water and grabs a shark that is dangling from a crane. It is an awesome scene and practically worth the price of admission. Claire meanwhile is busy trying to get Owen to inspect the paddock where they are keeping the newest dinosaur that they have created called an Indominus Rex. The enclosure has huge walls all around it and when Owen finally gets there he looks from an observatory and spots claw marks all over one wall. They run a thermal scan and find there is no dinosaur in the enclosure. The Indominus Rex is a genetically modified dinosaur that has been created using the genes of many different creatures. The people that run Jurassic World are about to find out how many abilities this new creature has.
There are some incredibly tense scenes and brilliant special effects that make this movie worth watching. The story helps build the tension and the actors are all very good in their respective roles. There are some major flaws in this movie like one of the main characters running through the entire movie in high heels and still able to out run a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The youngest boy carrying matches that even though he dived in water, worked just fine. Why was he carrying matches in the first place? There are a few other things but I won’t list them all.
I still think this is a very entertaining movie, high heels and all. I do recommend this movie because there are more good things in this movie than bad, but I don’t want to give the story away. You need to enjoy this ride for yourselves.
