Infinity War marks the culmination of ten years of the MCU Marvel Cinematic Universe coming to an end (for some) after 19 movies. Anthony and Joe Russo bring us yet another intense Marvel movie (Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier) that brings the MCU the most dangerous enemy they have ever encountered….Thanos (Brolin). Thanos is determined to acquire all six of the infinity stones in an attempt to bring “balance” to the universe. The Avengers must reunite and work together in order to stop Thanos but it will be their greatest test yet.

The movie starts by establishing how powerful Thanos is even without the infinity stones by fighting Thor, Hulk, and Loki. Ebony Maw (Vaughan-Lawlor) is Thanos’ right hand man and he heads to Earth to get the Time Stone from Dr. Strange. These opening sequences establish the strength of the enemy and bring a true sense of dread to the entire team. As the movie progresses the Avengers are pushed to the limit and come to the realization that the horrific plan of Thanos is going to become a reality.

There are plenty of cameos from the Marvel Universe throughout this movie. The action and fight sequences are just brilliant and are worth seeing several times. We must remember that this is the first part of a two movie story. Ultimately, it is a two and a half hour beat down of our favourite Marvel characters and leaves you feeling down. The good news is May 3, 2019 the second part of this movie will be released and we should get a happier ending.
