Story by William Joyce, James V. Hart, and Chris Wedge.
Based on the Book “The Leaf Men and The Brave Good Bugs” by William Joyce.

When Mary Katherine or M.K. (Seyfried) is shrunk down to two inches tall she is told to take a pod to Nim Galuu (Tyler). This pod is the life of the forest and Queen Tara (Knowles) leaves it to M.K. to get it safely to Nim Galuu. Ronin (Farrell) is a leaf man that cared for Queen Tara and he helps M.K. along her journey. As the forest starts to die all the creatures become frightened except for Mandrake (Waltz) who wants the pod to hatch in darkness where its powers will enhance him instead of the whole forest. Meanwhile M.K.’s father is trying to discover these tiny people and he becomes distraught when he thinks he drove his daughter away. When he finally realizes she has been shrunk to two inches he faints. This is not a lot of help to M.K. or the forest which he is trying to protect. There are many leaves but they are all from one tree and this moto is the underlying theme of the movie. It reminds the viewer that nature is important to all of us because in one way or another we are all connected.
