Retired CIA agent Bryan Mills (Neeson) got a lot of people mad at him when he killed a human trafficking ring in Paris during the first movie. It turns out all of those scumbags from the first movie had families that are not happy with Bryan. They vow revenge during the opening of this movie and true to the first film no time is wasted in bringing the action. Bryan’s ex-wife Lenore (Janssen) and Stuart are separating, so Bryan suggest that they meet him in Istanbul after he finishes a three day job. Meanwhile, our hell bent for revenge bad guys have gotten the information that Mills will be in Istanbul. There are some good twists in this story but one gaping flaw, why would they leave him tied up alone? He is a highly trained ex CIA agent what could possibly go wrong? I mean if you tied a good knot surely this man could not get out of it. So you must suspend disbelief for a few scenes and just enjoy the action. There are several good fight scenes and car chases compressed into 90 minutes. The filming of the fight sequences is very choppy and the mystery that drove the first film is non existent in this movie. The action is still worth watching and it is only 90 minutes, so why not give it a try.
