Steve Wiebe——–Himself
Walter O’Day——-Himself – The World Video Game Referee

Directed by Seth Gordon

An amazing documentary that chronicles a Redmond, Washington man’s quest to become the World Record holder in the classic arcade game “Donkey Kong”. A man loses his job and just for something to pass the time he decides to set the all-time record in “Donkey Kong”. I believe he needed something to focus on to keep his mind off of how bad he was feeling. The treatment this man receives when he submits a video tape of his record setting game is deplorable. His brief association with one person who was labelled a troublemaker, cause the governing body to question Steve Wiebe’s integrity and morals. They fly from Florida to Redmond, Washington and strip down his arcade machine to see if he tampered with the machine to set the record. Steve literally does everything he can think of to regain his self respect. He flies to Florida to play at a “SANCTIONED” arcade to prove he is not a fake, not once but three times. Even if you don’t like arcade games this documentary is worth your time. Grown men who are so small do not want to lose their pitiful record on an arcade game, do everything in their power to stop Steve Wiebe. We witness one man who is perceived as the best player deny Steve a Head To Head competition, he dodges Steve Wiebe rather than “lose” his title.

Keep Watching.
