Cute little comedy about Robert Lewis (McGregor) losing his job to a machine and in turn kidnaps his employers daughter Celine Naville (Diaz). He looks to ransom Celine to make his life easier. Celine is far from being a regular kidnap victim. She is upset when she hears how low of a ransom that Robert intends to ask for.

She has Robert practice his ransom phone call in a phone booth for hours before making the actual call. She coaches him throughout the ordeal to make sure he does a good job.

Meanwhile, O’Reilly (Hunter) and Jackson (Lindo) have been sent from heaven to try and get these two unlikely people to fall in love. For the two matchmakers there is major trouble if they fail. Robert and Celine go through many different phases and we wind up wondering if they will ever fall in love.
