This is the fourth installment of the Mad Max film series. The incredible vision of George Miller directing this updated and new cinematic journey. We are treated to some visually stunning car chases, stunts, and special effects.

The movie starts out with Max (Hardy) being attacked and taken prisoner by a gang of outlaws who strip him of almost everything he owns. His attempt at escape ends in Max being tied to the front of a vehicle in pursuit of a traitor. There are many harrowing moments for Max while in this terrible prediciment but when oppotunity presents itself he does not hesitate. The antagonist of this movie is Immortan Joe (Keays-Byrne) who wants his “property” returned. The actor Hugh Keays-Byrne was in the original Mad Max movie and thirty six years later he brings a great performance to this movie.

Imperator Furiosa (Theron) is tasked with driving a tanker and she proves to be more than just a pretty face. It is an excellent sequence when the first group of raiders attack her convoy. She has many moments throughout this film leaving us with a sense of awe in several scenes. There is a great visual moment where she drops to her knees and the sand is blowing across the dunes, well done, George Miller.

There is a part of the plot that will anger certain segments of society and I will leave that argument to them. I went to see this movie for the action and I was not disappointed. I did not understand a guy on the front of a truck playing a guitar that shoots flames or guys on long poles swinging from side to side, but sometimes you have to let things go. I was most impressed with the performance by Charlize Theron who steals the film leaving Tom Hardy in the shadows while Charlize burns in the spotlight.

The movie itself is good, the action sequences are very good, and I believe this film is worth a watch.
