This movie combined my favourite writer with my favourite director. Having read the novel I was eager for its release when I heard the movie was coming out. Arnie Cunningham is an awkward teenager who is getting bullied at school and bossed around by his parents. He is coming home from school when he catches a glimpse of an old car in a drive way. Instantly, he asks Dennis to back up and Arnies’ obsession begins, this obsession goes far deeper than anyone could imagine. Arnies’ transformation from that point on is one of the highlights of this film. Buddy Repperton (portrayed masterfully by William Ostrander) provides the conflict and Christine provides the horror.
