Walking into this movie I had to remind myself that there was no way that Christopher Nolan could top The Dark Knight. As I watched the final installment of this epic trilogy I found myself wanting to compare it to its predecessor but it did not take long for me to be caught up in another great movie. Eight years have passed since the Dark Knight ended and Batman has been hiding ever since. A new villain appears in the form of Bane (Hardy) a massive man who was trained and then excommunicated from the League of Shadows. Bane has a plan to destroy Gotham City and the will of Batman. Catwoman (Hathaway) looking for a fresh start and a new life gets Bruce Wayne’s fingerprints for Bane. These prints are then used to make trades in the name of Wayne, which are used to bankrupt Wayne. Gotham’s billionaire playboy turned recluse is now broke. Bane then goes on the offensive to attack Gotham and give it back to the people (or maybe not). Incredible follow up to the Dark Knight and surprisingly I believe Christopher Nolan almost beat The Dark Knight.
Production Budget: $250,000,000
CC Rating: 10 out of 10
Screenplay: I could not find the screenplay.
If you liked this try: Thor, Iron Man, Batman Begins, Inception.
There were two things that I hated in this movie:
1. Miranda Tate sits in the truck and gives her final dialogue. Then gives us an on screen death that needs to be forgiven, it just looked hokey.
2. Shortly after that with only seconds left to remove a nuclear weapon that is going to explode Batman and Catwoman share a kiss. One suggestion don’t listen to a monologue from a villain and don’t kiss your new girl friend, please just get the melting reactor as far away from the city as possible. I know I am being too picky but honestly how could they have predicted the exact moment a nuclear core would deteriorate over a few months down to the last second?
